Why should I consider NLP Business Change Management?
It doesn't matter how big or small your company or business is, your people, from the most junior to the
most senior are its major asset.  They bring diverse skills, ideas, co-operation, commitment, energy, enthusiasm
and motivation, all the ingredients needed to keep a company healthy and profitable.

However people are only human, and business efficiency is often affected by how people react to events in their
personal and/or work life.  Everyone is different and while s
ome people will thrive on change and new
challenges others will find it hard, leading to feelings of stress, anxiety, low confidence, resentment,
anger, frustration etc. all of which can infect other team members resulting in low morale
adversly affecting performance.

So why do people have such different reactions to change?
We are all different in the way in which we experience and perceive the world. For example, four people can
be given the exact same message at the same time about a change which is to occur and have different
reactions to it.  One person may believe "that will never work", another will see it as "yet another thing to
add to my load", the third may feel angry and the fourth may view it as a positive challenge, a change for
the better.

There is so much information coming at us all day long and from all angles that it is impossible to take it all in.
So what happens is that our brain filters this information through our five senses, taking some information in
and leaving out the rest.  Each of us filters this information differently depending on which sense we favour
i.e whether we prefer to learn by seeing, hearing or doing.  When an event comes in through our sensory
channels we process it by deleting, distorting and generalising it based on our beliefs, values, past experiences
and memories, thereby creating a unique personal perception which influences how we feel, relate and react to
that event and people around us.

How does NLP Business Change Management differ from existing courses set up to manage change?
When it comes to implementing any kind of change, and there is a lot of it about at the moment, with companies
re-structuring and many people facing redundancy - or, if they stay with the company, a cultural change - no
matter how professional the individual, personal feelings inevitably come into play and if these are not dealt
with business productivity is impacted.

In my experience, companies are good at running courses to train their directors and managers how to
recognise the signs of where each member of their team "sits" on the change curve i.e in denial, anger,
resistance, acceptance etc.  These courses also teach that everyone goes through, and needs to go
through, all the different stages of the change curve and to do so at different speeds. This is all
true - some people adapt very quickly while others seem to take a lifetime to move through it.

What directors and managers are not taught is how to move colleagues more quickly through the change
process.  This is not a criticism as directors and managers are not only dealing with their own particular
circumstances and feelings at this time but they also need to be allowed to concentrate on what they do
best and that is focussing on the business side of things.

However, imagine how more effective people, and by default business, would be if this change process could be
speeded up.......

Mind Change really does Matter - If you continue to do things the way you've always done them you will only get
more of the same, so as an organisation it really is worth changing the way you change.

NLP assists quick and positive change by using a range of techniques to recode, re-pattern and re-program the
way information is processed and stored in our brains hence altering the emotional and physiological behaviours
associated with it.
Limiting beliefs and internal blocks, no matter how long they have been in place can be changed
quickly.

Everyone is unique with differing needs which is why NLP Business Change Management sessions, particularly on
a 1-2-1 basis, work so well.  Instead of a number of people sitting through courses lasting a whole day or more and
only taking from it the parts each person needs, a 1-2-1 NLP session is bespoke and targeted towards the specific
requirements of that individual.  Not only does this mean less time away from his/her desk but because they are
aware that time and effort has been invested in them as a person they often see things from a different perspective
and the positive benefits are real and lasting.

Given the pressures on directors and managers to quickly buy into and implement change throughout their part of
the organisation it certainly makes sense to offer 1-2-1 NLP sessions to senior management as it helps them to quickly
deal with their own reactions to events, and positions them to lead their teams through what is always an unsettling
time all round.  However no matter their position in the organisation it only takes one disgruntled colleague to bring
down the morale of a whole team, thus it is equally important to offer the same opportunity to all colleagues whether
on a 1-2-1 or a group basis.

Keeping staff motivated, particularly in today's uncertain and constantly changing climate, is tough.  Empowering
them to step outside the box and often their comfort zone can be a constant challenge for both employee and
manager.

Organisations, particularly large ones, run training courses to arm people with technical and development skills to
do their jobs or manage change.  Some people may have been keen to go on a particular course, perhaps they
have just been promoted while others may be there under duress because "they've been told to go" or it's a
means of "ticking a box in their personal development plan".  I've been there and done that and know only too well
what happens when some people go back to their desks and the familiar work pressures take hold.  Any good
intentions go out the window and the money spent on the training is as good as lost.  If you are not getting the
return you expect from courses then why not consider offering a follow up 1-2-1 NLP session whereby the colleague
can benefit from NLP techniques to implement the learnings taken from the course.

It is also worth considering offering 1-2-1 NLP Business Change Management Sessions to colleagues facing redundancy
and/or working their notice period.  Regardless of how professional someone is, in this situation his/her attention and
energy will inevitably be focused inwards, away from their current job as they not only go through the same change curve
as colleagues being retained, but have the added pressure of trying to work out what they are going to do in the future,
perhaps starting to experience feelings of resentment and worrying about how they can continue to support their family.
Many large organisations provide these colleagues with access to employee assistance schemes, with large amounts
of practical information available on intranet sites.  However when your mind is all over the place, which it always is in
these situations, it can sometimes seem like an impossible task to sift through it all to find what you need.
1-2-1 NLP change sessions give people space and helps them work through their feelings and emotions in a positive
way enabling them to function more efficiently and retain focus on their current job.

Business Stress Reduction & Relaxation Workshops

By reducing stress levels in employees, organisations find that absenteeism levels fall.  Stress reduction and relaxation
workshops
gives employees time out to handle and deal with stress and help them relax.
  During these courses not only
will the individual reduce their existing stress levels but I also teach them techniques
which will help them manage their
reaction to stress when faced with stressful situations in the future.
Adhoc or regular workshops can be arranged at a
time to suit and can be of half or full day duration or alternatively shorter workshops can be run over one or two hours
in the evenings or during lunch hours.

The good thing about NLP Business Change Mangement sessions is that they are bespoke and tailor made to positively
benefit individuals and the company.  So to make an appointment to discuss how MIndChangeMatters can help your
